Best Women’s Health Naturopaths in Edmonton
Advanced Natural Hormone Balancing & Women’s Health Solutions
Looking for the best women’s health naturopath in Edmonton who actually gets it? At TruMed Naturopath Clinic in Edmonton, women’s health is one of our top specialties. Our naturopathic doctors—Dr. Muradov, Dr. Deol, Dr. Sumar, and Dr. Tran—are experienced in treating hormonal imbalances, PMS, PCOS, menopause, low libido, irregular periods, and fertility concerns using modern hormone testing and evidence-based natural treatments.
We combine Salivary, Blood, and DUTCH Urinary Hormone Testing to identify estrogen dominance, progesterone deficiency, thyroid or adrenal imbalance, and androgen excess (like excess testosterone in PCOS). If needed, our Nurse Practitioner, Ms. Smith, provides Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) for personalized hormone optimization in Edmonton.
PMS & Hormonal Mood Swings
PMS shouldn’t take over your life every month. At our naturopathic clinic in Edmonton, we dig deep with **Salivary Hormone Testing—usually day 19–22 Estradiol and Progesterone—**to see if estrogen dominance, low progesterone, or cortisol dysfunction is to blame.
Common natural treatments used at our Edmonton naturopath clinic include Vitex, Rosemary, Calcium Glucarate, Indole-3-Carbinol, Magnesium, and B6—proven to help balance hormones, reduce breast tenderness, mood swings, bloating, and migraines naturally.
PCOS Treatment in Edmonton
PCOS is incredibly common—and highly treatable—at our Edmonton naturopath clinic.
Our naturopathic doctors always start with a full hormone work-up: Thyroid (TSH, FT3, FT4), Androgens (Testosterone, DHEA-S), LH/FSH, Blood Glucose, and Vitamin D levels.
We address insulin resistance, androgen excess, poor estrogen metabolism, and sluggish thyroid function—all of which play key roles in PCOS. Natural treatments may include Myo-inositol, Saw Palmetto, NAC, Zinc, Cinnamon, DIM, and Berberine.
Heavy Periods & Menstrual Imbalances
Struggling with heavy, painful, or irregular cycles? Our Edmonton women’s health naturopaths assess Estrogen dominance, Thyroid function, Iron status, Vitamin K, A & C levels, and uterine tone.
Herbal strategies like Raspberry Leaf, Shepherd’s Purse, Vitex, and bioidentical progesterone (from our Nurse Practitioner) can help regulate cycles, support uterine health, and improve hormonal balance.
Menopause Support in Edmonton (With & Without Hormone Therapy)
Menopause doesn't have to mean night sweats, brain fog, low mood, or weight gain. At TruMed Naturopath Clinic in Edmonton, we help women navigate menopause confidently. Our naturopaths usually begin with non-hormonal options such as Black Cohosh, Siberian Rhubarb, Red Clover, DHEA, and adaptogenic herbs.
For women needing stronger support, our Nurse Practitioner provides BHRT—Bioidentical Estrogen, Progesterone, Testosterone, and DHEA creams, gels, and troches, safely prescribed and monitored in-house. We also check LH, FSH, Estradiol, Progesterone, and Thyroid markers to guide hormone therapy accurately.
Hormonal Acne and Hair Loss Treatment in Edmonton
Whether it's acne, facial hair growth, or hair thinning, our best Edmonton naturopathic doctors look for deeper hormonal causes like excess testosterone, DHT conversion, thyroid dysfunction, or PCOS-driven androgen dominance.
We commonly use DUTCH Testing to get a detailed hormone metabolism map, then treat using Saw Palmetto, Spearmint, Zinc, Peony Root, and DHT-lowering herbal combinations. For hair loss, we also investigate thyroid, ferritin, Vitamin D, and autoimmune causes.
Low Libido & Hormonal Mood Imbalance
Low libido, brain fog, mood changes, and hormonal fatigue? At our best Edmonton naturopath clinic, we test Free Testosterone, DHEA, Estrogen, Cortisol, and Thyroid hormones.
Natural strategies may include Tongkat Ali, Maca, DHEA support, Vitamin D, Boron, Magnesium, and Adrenal adaptogens. When needed, our Nurse Practitioner offers Bioidentical Testosterone Therapy for women — safely, locally, right in Edmonton.

Why He Became a Naturopath
Medicine captivated Dr. Muradov from a young age — he famously read medical encyclopedias in high school for fun.
In 2004, he discovered naturopathic medicine through the Reader’s Digest Family Guide to Alternative Medicine and immediately resonated with the integration of science + natural therapeutics.
After shadowing Dr. Steve Marsden ND on Whyte Ave, he knew naturopathic medicine was the right path and went on to complete his training at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.
Why His Interests Include Thyroid, Food Sensitivity & IV Therapy
During his training, Dr. Muradov was strongly influenced by:
-
Dr. Alan Gaby, MD – pioneer of IV Therapy and integrative clinical medicine
-
Dr. Jonathan Wright, MD – specializing in functional endocrinology and food allergy medicine
-
Dr. Trethart, MD (Edmonton) – thyroid and allergy-focused functional physician
These mentors shaped his clinical framework:
evidence-backed nutrition, targeted hormones, food reactions, and IV therapies that create rapid changes in energy, mood, and immunity.
Why He Has a Special Interest in MS
In 2007, during naturopathic medical school, Dr. Muradov was diagnosed with an aggressive form of MS.

After completing a four-year post-graduate naturopathic medical program and rigorous licensing exams, our NDs continue to pursue advanced training in functional medicine, orthomolecular nutrition, and regenerative therapies. At TruMed, our philosophy is simple: identify the root cause, correct imbalances, and support your body's innate ability to heal—using the most effective tools available, whether that’s a Myers Cocktail IV or Testosterone Replacement Therapy.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy – Supercharge Healing with Pure Oxygen
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is another cutting-edge treatment we offer at TruMed Edmonton. This therapy involves breathing 100% oxygen in a pressurized chamber, dramatically increasing oxygen availability in your blood and tissues. HBOT supports wound healing, reduces inflammation, promotes new blood vessel growth, and even boosts brain performance. It’s an excellent complement to IV therapy and functional medicine protocols, especially for conditions like post-viral fatigue, brain fog, chronic pain, and neurological recovery. Our Naturopathic Doctors often recommend Hyperbaric Oxygen as part of comprehensive treatment plans designed to help you recover faster and perform better.
Prolotherapy – Regenerative Injection Therapy for Joint Pain
For those dealing with chronic pain, ligament laxity, or joint instability, Prolotherapy offers a powerful, non-surgical option. Prolotherapy involves injecting a natural irritant—usually dextrose—into weakened ligaments or tendons to stimulate local healing and collagen repair. Our Edmonton Naturopaths use Prolotherapy to treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, from osteoarthritis to sports injuries. This regenerative technique encourages your body to do what it does best: rebuild itself, stronger than before. Often combined with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) or nutrient IV support, Prolotherapy is a favorite among our active patients and athletes.
Hormone Replacement Therapy – Including Testosterone Therapy for Men
Hormonal imbalances can have a dramatic effect on energy, mood, libido, sleep, and metabolism. At TruMed, we specialize in Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) for both men and women. For men experiencing symptoms of low testosterone—such as fatigue, low libido, mental fog, or loss of muscle mass—our Naturopathic Doctors offer Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) using safe, bio-identical forms of testosterone, monitored with comprehensive blood testing and clinical oversight.
For women, hormone optimization may involve balancing estrogen, progesterone, or DHEA using bio-identical options tailored to each stage of life. All hormonal therapies are carefully prescribed and monitored by our licensed NDs, with attention to safety, effectiveness, and long-term health. Hormone therapy is often integrated into broader functional medicine strategies that include IV nutrients, lifestyle changes, and botanical support.

Private Iron Infusions and Injections in Edmonton
We have administered over 15,000 IV therapy treatments in Edmonton at our infusion clinic since 2010
In 2025, we added iron infusions to our suite of IV therapy offerings at our office in Edmonton.
Our iron infusions are private medicine - you do not require a referral or a prescription for your doctor to get one. Our nurse practitioner will evaluate each Iron Infusion case, on a person by person basis.
Primarily used suboptimal ferritin as the main criteria for receiving an Iron Infusion at our Clinic. Most commonly patients that seek out iron infusions have failed oral iron therapy or experiences side effects from taking iron by mouth.
Iron infusions can rapidly improve your iron levels. After one or two infusions patients usually have substantially higher iron levels for prolonged periods of time.
We are one of the only private infusion clinics that offer Iron Infusions in Edmonton.
An average Iron Infusion takes about an hour and then we monitor our patients for any iron related reactions for 30 minutes after the end of the infusion.
We do not offer iron injections - intramuscular iron that is, we only offer intravenous iron as it is much safer and requires less treatments. These older iron infusions were associated with anaphylaxis. There is a .002 and .004% risk of anaphylaxis with newer injectable iron types - that is the risk of exceedingly low
These are some of the side effects that can happen with an Iron Infusion: a flushing reaction, chest tightness, chest pain, shortness of breath and back tightness or back pain. Following an Iron Infusion there can be a range of reactions anywhere from immediately after the IV up to 4 days after: including but not limited to: urticaria, rashes, joint swelling, joint pain, fever, flu-like symptoms, abdominal pain, diarrhea and constipation as well as muscle pain and cramping.
If the IV is dislodged intravenous iron can cause permanent staining of the skin. Also all the rare a blue tinge to the skin can happen for up to a couple of weeks after receiving an Iron Infusion.
After your Iron Infusion, we will provide a requisition for blood work to be done approximately a month after your last infusion. It's important to not do your testing earlier than this as you can see falsely high values.
See our iron IV page
Our Edmonton Infusion Clinic has given thousands of NAD infusions since 2015.
Most of our NAD injections are dosed between 150-400mg for our Edmonton patients however occasionally we do higher especially in the context of using NAD injections for substance abuse and withdrawal.
NAD+ IV Therapy NAD+ plays a central role in energy metabolism and cellular repair.
Though traditionally believed not to cross cellular membranes, clinical outcomes suggest otherwise.
IV NAD+ demonstrates immediate benefits in addiction recovery, energy, and neurological health.
Studies have documented its efficacy in reducing cravings, supporting mitochondrial function, and improving Parkinson's symptoms.
At TruMed, we prefer IV NAD+ over oral precursors like NMN or NR due to its clear, tangible clinical effects.
NAD+ IV Therapy: Role and Research NAD+ is central to cellular energy and repair.
Though once thought unable to cross cell membranes, our clinical results with IV NAD+ injections suggest otherwise. It acts quickly, supporting detoxification, addiction recovery, and neurological health.
NAD+ is involved in glycolysis, the Krebs cycle, and is the substrate for Sirtuins and PARP enzymes, which regulate aging and DNA repair. Oral precursors like NMN and NR have shown limited clinical effect compared to IV administration.
Research highlights include:
-
O’Hollaren (1961): IV NAD+ injections in 100+ cases of substance withdrawal.
-
Broom (2019): Reduction in cravings with IV NAD+ injections in addiction.
-
Grant (2019): Demonstrated rapid uptake of NAD injections.
-
Rutherford (2020): Parkinson’s improvement post-NAD injection.
-
Blum (2022): NAD+ with vitamins and amino acids reduced cravings and supported neurorecovery.
We have seen tremendous results using IV NAD for stubborn fatigue in our Edmonton patients especially when all other investigations are unremarkable.
We also consider using NAD injections to improve mood and cognition in patients as well as for neurological concerns.
NAD+ side effects - NAD Infusions and Injections may cause nausea, headaches, lightheadedness and chest pressure, but these rapidly subside when the infusion is slowed.
IV Glutathione infusions in Edmonton
Our infusion clinic has offered Glutathione injections since 2010 - we've given thousands of Glutathione infusions in Edmonton patients.
It is uncommon to see side effects with glutathione injections - most patients tolerate glutathione infusions extremely well and the incidence of adverse effects is very low.
Glutathione infusions are typically added to the end of other IV treatments.
Glutathione injections are often sought out for cosmetic purposes such as skin lightening and skin brightening.
For skin lightening and brightening our naturopaths often use 1-2 weekly Glutathione injections.
For neurological health, our naturopathic doctors may suggest Glutathione injections daily.
Glutathione: Safety and Benefits IV glutathione is well tolerated and safe, even with repeated or high-dose administration. Studies show its benefits for liver support, Parkinson’s disease, and detoxification. In clinical use, we observe significant neurological and antioxidant benefits without adverse effects on liver enzymes, even with frequent dosing.

✨ Glow from the Inside Out with Glutathione IV Therapy in Edmonton
Brighten Your Skin. Boost Your Glow. Detox Like a Pro.
Looking for Glutathione IV therapy or Glutathione injections in Edmonton? You’ve just found your skin’s new best friend.
At TruMed Naturopathic Clinic, we’re serious about helping you glow. Our skin-focused IVs are powered by glutathione—your body’s master antioxidant and natural skin brightener. Whether you're after a radiant complexion, smoother tone, or a little help clearing things up, Glutathione IVs deliver that luminous “I-just-had-a-facial” vibe—from the inside out.
What Is Glutathione & Why Should You Care?
Glutathione is a triple-threat antioxidant made from three amino acids (glutamate, cysteine, and glycine). It’s basically your cells’ personal bodyguard—defending against toxins, free radicals, and inflammation.
Inside your body? It fights oxidative stress and supports detox.
✨ On your skin? It helps fade dark spots and evens out tone by turning down melanin production.
Less dullness. More brightness.
That’s the glutathione effect.
Why Do We Use IV Glutathione?
Because your gut can only do so much. When taken orally, glutathione is mostly broken down before it gets where it needs to go.
With a Glutathione IV, we send it straight into your bloodstream—no detours, no delays. That means more glow, more detox, and more noticeable results.
How It Works: Skin Brightening 101
Here’s the science (made simple):
Glutathione helps block the enzyme tyrosinase, which your body uses to make melanin (the pigment behind dark spots and uneven tone). That inhibition shifts production away from darker pigments (eumelanin) and toward lighter ones (pheomelanin).
Translation? Less hyperpigmentation, brighter skin, smoother tone.
The Glow-Boosting IV Formula
At TruMed, we pair Glutathione IVs with high-dose Vitamin C to maximize antioxidant power and make your results pop.
Step 1: We start with a Vitamin C infusion
Step 2: Follow up with a bag of Glutathione goodness
Our Naturopathic Doctors customize your dose and frequency depending on your skin type and goals. Sessions last around 40 minutes—and yes, you can often start the same day as your consultation.
Real Science. Real Results.
Clinical trials back it up:
-
2012 Study: Glutathione reduced melanin at 6 body sites in just 4 weeks.
-
2017 Study: Glutathione = smoother skin, fewer wrinkles, improved elasticity.
Translation: Not just brighter skin, but better skin.
Give Your Glutathione Some Backup
Want to go all in? We’ve got the nutrient dream team to support your skin between IVs:
✔️ NAC (N-Acetylcysteine): Builds more glutathione
✔️ Vitamin C: Keeps it in action
✔️ B2, B5 & B12: Fuel your cellular detox
✔️ Selenium: Powers your antioxidant enzymes
✔️ Alpha-lipoic acid (ALA): A bonus antioxidant that helps regenerate glutathione
We even offer custom oral supplements and topical formulas (hello, niacinamide!) to keep your glow going 24/7.
IV or Injection? You’ve Got Options.
Short on time? Ask about our Glutathione Injections.
They're quick, effective, and a great way to boost in between full IV sessions.

Myers Cocktail IV Therapy: Comprehensive Overview
Composition and Evolution of the Myers Cocktail The original Myers Cocktail, developed by Dr. John Myers, was a simple intravenous injection administered via a 10-ml syringe, containing B1, B6, B complex, calcium, magnesium, vitamin C, and dilute hydrochloric acid. Dr. Alan Gaby later refined the formula, administering it in a 20-ml syringe with 1 ml each of B6, B5, B complex, and B12, alongside 4 ml magnesium, 2 ml calcium, 6 ml vitamin C, and 8 ml sterile water.
At TruMed in Edmonton, Dr. Muradov utilizes a significantly enhanced formulation. The "TruMed Myers" is administered in a 30–100 ml IV bag and contains approximately 50% more B vitamins than the Gaby formulation. It also includes added riboflavin and up to 7.5 times the standard dose of B12. This small-volume IV approximates the hypertonicity of Gaby's original preparation, delivering a potent and clinically effective treatment.
Clinical Applications of the Myers Cocktail According to Dr. Gaby’s case reports, the Myers Cocktail was originally used for a range of conditions including fatigue, migraines, asthma, fibromyalgia, depression, upper respiratory infections, seasonal allergies, narcotic withdrawal, chronic hives,
athletic performance enhancement, hyperthyroidism, and COPD.
At TruMed, our clinical experience confirms the efficacy of the Myers Cocktail in all originally proposed indications. It is especially effective for fatigue, anxiety, depression, and athletic performance. Its ability to elevate nutrient concentrations in the brain makes it a valuable tool for improving mood and mental clarity. Intravenous administration achieves blood levels far beyond what is possible with oral supplementation, facilitating nutrient delivery to neural tissue.
Treatment Cost and Protocol The enhanced TruMed Myers IV treatment is priced at approximately $175 per session. Many patients experience a positive response within 24 hours, although 3 to 4 weekly treatments may be necessary for sustained results.
Research and Efficacy Dr. Alan Gaby’s monograph remains the foundational reference for Myers IV therapy, outlining numerous positive case reports. A 2007 pilot study on fibromyalgia showed decreasing pain and increasing energy over 8 weeks of treatment. A 2009 study corroborated these findings, demonstrating improvements in pain, depression, and quality of life. At our Edmonton clinic, we have observed consistent results aligning with these studies.
Detailed Nutrient Breakdown
-
Vitamin B1 (Thiamine): Essential for acetyl-CoA production. Used in fatigue-related conditions and supported by data for neurological recovery, including MS fatigue.
-
Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin): Involved in energy production via FMN and FAD coenzymes. IV administration allows for higher dosages than oral forms. Known to aid in migraine prevention and enhance athletic performance.
-
Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide): Precursor to NAD+, vital for energy metabolism and mood regulation. Well tolerated in IV form. Niacinamide increases serotonin precursors, benefiting mood disorders.
-
Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid): Integral for coenzyme A synthesis and adrenal hormone production. Particularly helpful in fatigue, adrenal support, and constipation.
-
Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine): Administered as Pyridoxine Hydrochloride or P5P. Useful in neurological health, immune response, and hormone regulation. Important in mood-related therapies.
-
Vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin and Adenosylcobalamin): Crucial for nerve health, energy, and mood. Effective in treating peripheral neuropathies and depressive symptoms.
-
Magnesium: A cofactor in over 300 biochemical reactions. IV magnesium significantly elevates serum levels, supporting ATP activity and benefiting fatigue and chronic fatigue syndrome

Iron Infusions in Edmonton
TruMed has been offering Edmonton IV therapy for over 15 years.
In 2025, through our nurse practitioner, our office in Edmonton added Iron Infusions to our suite of IV therapy treatments.
When given intravenously, these treatments can dramatically increase ferritin levels (which is a measure of iron storage) - after a single infusion the ferritin can rise by up to 200 points.
We are one of the only private providers of Iron Infusions in Edmonton.
It takes about 60 minutes to administer an average Iron Infusion.
Iron IV therapy can have side effects but our staff takes extreme precautions to ensure a smooth experience for all of our patients.
In about 5% of patients, a flushing reaction or Fishbane reaction is experienced with chest tightness, chest pain, shortness of breath and back tightness or back pain. Typically the infusion is stopped for a 10-minute monitoring period and then resumed once the symptoms subside.
There is a .002 and .004% risk of anaphylaxis depending on the type of Intravenous Iron given.
Following an Iron transfusion there can be a range of " hypersensitivity reactions" anywhere from immediately after the IV up to 3 to 4 days after: urticaria, rashes, joint swelling, joint pain, fever, flu-like symptoms, abdominal pain, diarrhea and constipation as well as muscle pain and cramping.
Most patients find this range of side effects with intravenous iron acceptable for the dramatic benefits in Iron storage.
After your Iron Infusion, you will be sent for blood work - it is important to not test anywhere less than 4 to 6 weeks after the IV - otherwise you will see falsely high levels.
Most patients will only require one or to iron infusions in order to restore their levels.
Our Nurse Practitioner on staff will evaluate your case and can prescribe the Iron Infusion for you.

Autoimmune Disease Care — Naturopaths in Edmonton (Scientific, evidence-led)
We treat complex autoimmune conditions at TruMed Naturopath Clinic — Edmonton using a systems-biology approach that integrates clinical medicine, functional lab testing, environmental assessment, targeted nutrition, IV therapies, and safe prescription options via our in-house Nurse Practitioner. If you’re searching for “autoimmune naturopath Edmonton”, “Crohn’s Edmonton naturopath”, “LDN Edmonton”, “heavy metal testing Edmonton” or “gut health Edmonton”, this page explains how we investigate and manage autoimmunity using current, evidence-informed tools.
Tests and diagnostics our naturopaths commonly use in Edmonton autoimmune work-ups
Genetic & epigenetic screening (where indicated) to clarify susceptibility; heavy metal and environmental toxicant panels to identify exposure burdens; comprehensive microbiome/stool analysis to detect dysbiosis, yeast, and parasites; IgG/IgE food testing and metabolic, inflammatory and oxidative stress markers to quantify disease drivers. We also use targeted viral and bacterial serology when infections (EBV, Borrelia, Chlamydia, etc.) are suspected contributors.
For hormone- and metabolism-related contributors we use tools such as DUTCH urinary hormone testing for metabolite mapping and salivary/blood hormone panels when relevant. (PMC)
Environmental toxicants & heavy metals — why we test (and how)
Environmental toxicants (heavy metals, pesticides, persistent organic pollutants) can modulate immune function and clearance pathways. When a clinical history or exposure risk suggests a contribution, our Edmonton naturopaths order appropriate hair, urine, or blood heavy-metal panels and interpret them in the context of clinical symptoms, nutritional status, and detox pathways. Local clinic partners and referral labs process clinical heavy-metal testing in the Edmonton area. (Naturalterrain)
IV & parenteral support for selected autoimmune presentations (IBD, severe malabsorption, neurological disease) our naturopaths use:
When malabsorption or severe intestinal inflammation prevents oral repletion, parenteral/IV nutrition and targeted IV nutrient therapy can be clinically valuable. For IBD patients (Crohn’s, ulcerative colitis), parenteral nutrition and IV iron/nutrient repletion are established interventions to correct deficiencies, support wound healing, and reduce catabolic stress while the gut recovers. IV antioxidant support (glutathione, vitamin C, NAD+ adjuncts) may be used as adjunctive measures to address oxidative stress in inflamed tissue, guided by biomarkers and clinical context. We select IV protocols on a case-by-case basis at our Edmonton clinic. (PMC)
Low-Dose Naltrexone (LDN) — an evidence-informed, off-label Naturopathic option
LDN is an inexpensive, well-tolerated, off-label medication used by many functional medicine and naturopathic clinicians for autoimmune conditions (notably Crohn’s disease and multiple sclerosis) because it may modulate immune activity and neuroinflammation. Clinical trials and scoping reviews show promising signals—improved quality of life and symptom control in some patients—though larger confirmatory trials are still emerging. LDN is prescribed carefully, usually alongside standard therapies and specialist oversight; our team facilitates LDN via collaborative prescribers or our in-house Nurse Practitioner when appropriate. Infections as autoimmune triggers — what our Naturopaths screen for in Edmonton
Infectious agents (viral, bacterial, spirochetal, parasitic, fungal) are well-recognized triggers or perpetuators of autoimmune responses in genetically susceptible people. For example, the epidemiological and mechanistic link between Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) and multiple sclerosis has gained strong support in the literature; EBV screening is therefore part of our targeted neurologic autoimmune work-up. Other infections we consider and test for (as clinically indicated) include Borrelia (Lyme), Chlamydia pneumoniae, Candida overgrowth, Helicobacter pylori, Yersinia, Blastocystis, and herpesviruses—based on the autoimmune phenotype (MS, RA, IBD, thyroiditis, etc.). We partner with specialty labs for sensitive viral serologies and PCR testing. (The Lancet)
Nutraceuticals, anti-inflammatories & adjuncts our Naturopaths commonly use
We use evidence-guided anti-inflammatory nutraceuticals and botanical agents as adjuncts to reduce immune activation and support tissue repair. Common choices include curcumin (bioavailable extracts), green-tea polyphenols, omega-3 fatty acids, glutathione/NAC support, vitamin D optimization, and selective botanicals. These are chosen based on lab markers (CRP, cytokine panels, oxidative stress markers) and integrated with your current medical regimen.
Autoimmune thyroid disease, Hashimoto’s & Graves’ — Naturopathic care in Edmonton
Autoimmune thyroid patients are assessed for gut dysbiosis, food triggers, viral associations (EBV), micronutrient insufficiencies (selenium, iodine, vitamin D), and environmental exposures. Where indicated we coordinate testing (antibody panels, viral serology, stool microbiome) and may suggest LDN, low-toxicity immunomodulatory nutraceuticals, and diet/gut protocols alongside endocrine care. Our Nurse Practitioner can coordinate medication adjustments if thyroid replacement or other prescription therapies are needed.
How we personalize care at TruMed Edmonton
-
Comprehensive intake & history (environmental + occupational exposures).
-
Targeted labs (heavy metals, GI microbiome, IgG/IgE, viral serology, DUTCH/hormone mapping, inflammatory and oxidative stress markers). (PMC)
-
Collaborative care plan that aligns with your specialist(s) — we never replace needed conventional disease-modifying therapy for autoimmune disease; instead we augment and support recovery, symptom control, and resilience.
-
Monitored interventions (dietary elimination protocols, gut repair, detox support, IV nutrient infusions when indicated, LDN or BHRT via NP) with objective lab follow-up.
Practical examples — conditions we commonly manage in Edmonton
-
Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn’s & Ulcerative Colitis) — gut healing, IgG-guided elimination diets, parenteral nutrient/IV support for malabsorption, collaboration with GI specialists. (PMC)
-
Multiple Sclerosis — viral screening (EBV), supportive antioxidant/mitochondrial therapy, referral pathways for LDN or specialist immunotherapy coordination. (The Lancet)
-
Rheumatoid arthritis / spondyloarthropathies — microbiome assessment (Klebsiella considerations), inflammation control, nutritional and detox strategies. (PMC)
-
Autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto’s, Graves’) — antibodies, gut triggers, nutrient repletion, low-dose naltrexone discussion when clinically appropriate.
